VCU, Lowe, Lang Open NCAA Regional Play

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- VCU is in 12th place after one round at the Myrtle Beach Regional, while Davidson’s Jack Lang is tied for 66th at Myrtle Beach and George Washington’s Logan Lowe is tied for 35th at the Louisville Regional after the first day of NCAA Men’s Golf Postseason.

The Rams shot a 301 on the first day, led by Ian Peng’s 74. Kristian Tannum Donaldson carded a 75 to tie for 48th and both Sachin Kumar and Alston Newsom scored a 76 on the first day to tie for 54th. Adrian Vagberg tied for 61st with a 77. VCU qualified for the NCAA Regional as the A-10 team champion.

Lang, who earned an at-large bid as an individual, shot a 79 to tie for 66th.

Lowe, playing in the Louisville Regional, tied for 35th with a 73. Lowe earned an automatic qualification as an individual as the A-10 Championship medalist.

Round two continues Tuesday at both sites.
