Newport News, Va. -- Three Atlantic 10 Basketball Coaches will represent the league at the 2019 USA Basketball Coach Academy in Washington D.C. September 28-29.

Saint Louis’ women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone, VCU women’s basketball coach Beth O’Boyle, and George Washington men’s basketball coach Jamion Christian will present among 14 speakers including high school, college and professional coaches, analysts and USA Basketball staff members.

The Academy is offered in a live setting to provide coaches valuable insight and education for teaching the game of basketball to young players.

The coaches will spend two days attending presentations led by USA basketball staff and guest speakers, player demonstrations, lectures, panel discussions, on-court basketball instruction and off-court coaching techniques and life skills training.

“I am a huge proponent of youth development and assisting coaches in advancing their craft,” Stone said. “If I am able to give back to the profession I have been involved with for 34 years, I will do it every time, and I thank USA Basketball for allowing me the opportunity to do so.”

Washington, D.C. will be the last of six 2019 academy locations in this year's selection that includes Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Las Vegas, and New York.

Additional noted presenters include David Adkins (Washington Wizards assistant coach), Stan Van Gundy (NBA analyst), Jay Demings (USA Basketball Youth and Sport Development director) and Kevin Eastman (motivational speaker and former NBA coach).
