Adams Offensive Prowess Earns Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Nod
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure senior Jaylen Adams was selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Fordham freshman Ivan Raut was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards, announced Monday, are for games played Feb. 5-11.
Adams averaged 34 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of wins that extended the Bonnies’ winning streak to six games. He made 21-of-34 shots overall (.618) including 13-for-22 (.591) from 3-point range. He also was 13-for-15 (.867) at the free throw line. The guard from Baltimore scored a career high 44 points against Saint Louis as he set a school record with 10 (of 13) 3-pointers. He added six assists and three steals in that win. Adams closed the week with a 24-point, seven assists, two steal performance versus Richmond.
Raut scored a season-high 25 points, shooting 8-for-11 (.727) from the field at Duquesne, and scored 16 points versus George Mason to lead the Rams to a pair of wins. The guard/forward from Kotor, Montenegro, shot .583 from the field on the week (14-for-23), .471 (8-of-18) from behind the arc and averaged 5.0 rebounds per game.

Peyton Aldridge scored 32 points and had nine rebounds and four assists in Davidson’s win over Saint Joseph’s … Davidson freshman Kellan Grady averaged 17 points and three assists per game, and shot .667 (14-for-21) from the field in the Wildcats’ two games last week … Dayton’s Jordan Davis was nearly perfect with a 7-for-8 (.875) performance from the field and a 4-of-5 (.800) effort from 3-point range in the Flyers’ win over Duquesne … UD freshman Jalen Crutcher tallied 21 points, seven rebounds and eight assists on the road at VCU … Fordham’s Prokop Slanina scored 17 points versus George Mason and then had a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double at Duquesne while averaging 4.0 blocks per game to lift the Rams to a pair of victories … Otis Livingston II averaged 15 points, eight assists and three rebounds in a split week for George Mason … Mason freshman Javon Greene scored 11 points, at Fordham and averaged 6.5 rebounds for the Patriots last week ... Yuta Watanabe had a career week, averaging a 24-point, 10-rebounds double-double after scoring a career-high 29 points in a win versus La Salle and registering a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double at George Mason … Jarvis Garrett scored 17 points on 6-of-8 (.750) shooting, including drilling 4-for-5 (.800) from 3-point range to help Rhode Island win its 15th straight game with a victory over Davidson … Rhody freshman Fatts Russell was 4-of-8 (.500) from the field for 10 points to go along with three assists in the win over Davidson … Richmond freshman Jacob Gilyard averaged 16 points, six assists and five steals across a split week for the Spiders … Saint Joseph’s freshman Taylor Funk scored 22 points on 6-of-12 (.500) shooting in the Hawks’ win over UMass … Saint Louis freshman Jordan Goodwin tallied a 28-point, nine-rebound game, including a 13-for-16 (.813) performance at the line in the Billikens’ win over La Salle … Justin Tillman had a monster week, scoring a career-high 37 points in an overtime win over Dayton, while averaging 29.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while shooting .676 (25-37) in VCU’s two games.
