VCU's Williams and La Salle's Santana Earn All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. –  VCU’s Jaleesa Williams and La Salle’s Alfredo Santana concluded their seasons yesterday at the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Williams finished ninth overall in the Women’s Discus (53.04 meters) and with Second Team All-American Honors for the second consecutive season. Santana finished 22nd overall in the Men’s 1,500 meter semifinals with a time of 3:49.59 and earned Third Team All-American honors.

The George Mason Men’s 4 x 400 relay team consisting of Angel Coburn, George Empty, Da’Quan Smalls and Adrian Vaughn finished 17th with a time of 3:08.25.

Student-athletes from the A-10 will be in action again on Friday as Fordham’s David Fajoyomi competes in the Men’s High Jump finals and VCU’s Kiara Porter competes in the finals of the Women’s 400 meters.
