PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- On Tuesday, men's soccer players Adam Clement (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Joshua Patterson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) became the first Duquesne players ever to be chosen in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplemental Draft. Both players were chosen by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, with Clement going in the second round and Patterson being taken in the third round.
Clement, a two-time Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference honoree, provided stellar defense for the Dukes from his center back position and tallied a goal and an assist for three points in his senior season. He finished his Duquesne career with 14 points on four goals and six assists.
Patterson, the 2011 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, led the Dukes in scoring in 2012 with 25 points on 11 goals and three assists en route to Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors.
