NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Saint Louis forward Robert Kristo has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, while George Mason keeper Stefen Krauss earned his second Rookie of the Week honor. The student-athletes were honored for matches played from Oct. 28 – Nov. 3.
A junior from Saint Louis, Kristo scored four goals for the Billikens last week. Kristo notched a pair of goals in SLU’s 3-2 overtime loss at the hands of No. 11 Louisville on Thursday. Kristo followed that up with two scores, including what proved to be the game-winner, in Saint Louis’ 4-1 victory over Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. Kristo leads SLU and tied for the A-10 lead with eight goals on the season.
Kraus helped Mason go 2-0-0 in a pair of A-10 matches and recorded his seventh shutout of the season on Sunday in a rivalry game against George Washington, needing to make two saves in the contest. Kraus also made six saves, including three in the second-half to help the Patriots preserve a 2-1 win over Rhode Island. His save percentage is now .791 and has a GAA of 0.61 this season which is tops among A-10 keepers.
