NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—The Atlantic 10 Conference has set the seeds for the three scoring events in the 2014 A-10 Rowing Championship, which will be held Sunday, May 4 at the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Va.
Massachusetts will be the top seed for the Varsity 8 race, while Rhode Island, the A-10 defending champion, will be the second seed. Duquesne, George Washington and Saint Joseph’s are seeds 3-5 respectively for the Varsity 8 race.
Rhode Island is the top seed for the Second Varsity 8 race and Fordham earned the second seed. UMass is No. 3 in the Second Varsity 8 with GW and Saint Joseph’s in spots No. 4 and 5.
UMass and Rhode Island also earned the top two seeds for the Varsity 4. The Minutewomen are No.1, the Rams No. 2 while GW is No. 3. Duquesne will be the No. 4 seed and George Mason is in the fifth position.
In addition to the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4, the A-10 championship will also feature a non-scoring Third Varsity 8 race.
The Championship begins at 8:00 am with preliminaries through 9:00 am. After an hour break, the finals begin at 10:00 am. The awards ceremony will follow at noon.
