AMHERST, Mass. – Richmond got a goal and an assist from Rebecca Barry as the Spiders topped Lock Haven, 4-0, to advance to the Finals of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Championship.

Richmond improves to 14-6 overall will face the winner of Friday’s second semifinal between top-seed UMass and fourth-seeded VCU at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Massachusetts’ Garber Field.  Lock Haven ends its season with a 14-7 mark.

Barry got UR on the board 25 minutes into the contest when she took a pass from Chelsea Davies and beat LHU keeper Elaina White for her 16th goal of the season.

Richmond took that lead into the intermission before a Kerri McDonald strike at the 44minute mark proved to be the first of three Spider goals in a 15 minute span that extended the UR advantage to 4-0.  Kelly Quinn and Emma Johansson joined McDonald in the second-half scoring column.

Richmond outshot Lock Haven 11-4, while the Lady Eagles held a 3-2 edge in penalty corners.  White made two saves for the Lady Eagles, while Anna Zarkoski made two stops between the pipes for UR.
