Newport News, Va. --- Richmond’s Anna Zarkoski and Saint Francis’ Autumn Pellman have both been recognized as NCAA Statistical Champions for the 2013 Field Hockey season.

Zarkoski rewrote the Richmond record book as she finished a stellar career between the pipes.
The Norristown, Pa., native finished her career tied for first in goals against average (1.16) and third in save percentage (.762) all-time at Richmond. This season she had a Division I best .824 save percentage.  She also recorded 84 saves and seven shutouts. Prior to her First Team honor, Zarkoski, was placed on the All-American Third Team in 2011. Zarkoski was also placed on the All-South Region First Team, All-Atlantic 10 First Team and was also selected to represent Richmond on the NFHCA Senior Game following this season.

The Spiders earned team statistical honors after leading Division I in save percentage (.819) and goals against average (0.86).

Pellman was named an NCAA Statistical Champion for goals per game. It was also the program's first NCAA statistical champion in its 13th year as an intercollegiate sport at Saint Francis U. Pellman averaged 1.06 goals per game during the 2013 campaign; the junior notched 17 goals in 16 games for the Red Flash. The 17 goals broke her own SFU record for goals in a season from 2012 where she had 13. Pellman lengthened her lead on SFU's all-time charts; she sits number one in goals (42) and points (88) in Flash history.
