NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Massachusetts Minutewomen advanced to the 2012 Field Hockey Championship final tomorrow, after defeating Temple 5-2.

Temple's senior Katie Briglia put the Owls on the board early, scoring the first goal 4:52 into the match, assisted by junior Mandi Shearer. The 2012 Offensive Player of the Year, Amber Youtz, posted an additional goal for the Owls early in the second half, assisted by Shearer.

Massachusetts scored a total of five points, three in the first half, and two in the second. Sophomore midfielder Renee Suter, and seniors Kim Young and Nicole Cordero all scored a goal a piece, while senior Thando Zono posted two goals for the Muntuewomen.

The 2012 Field Hockey Championship final between the top-seeded Spiders and second-seeded Minutewomen will be streamed live tomorrow at 2:00pm on www.atlantic10.com.
