Aug. 27, 2012

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Massachusetts' Hannah Prince was named Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week, while Saint Joseph's Rachael Brosious earned Rookie of the Week honors, announced by the conference Monday for games played Aug. 24-26.

Junior defender Prince earned the first Player of the Week honor for the 2012 season after scoring two overtime game-winning goals against ranked opponents, #18 New Hampshire and #15 Ohio State. The Gorham, Maine native also had an assist against Ohio State which contributed to the 2-1 win over the Buckeyes. The junior's two goals and one assist were the first of her career.

Freshman forward Rachel Brosious made her debut this past weekend in the season opener against Liberty. The Drexel Hill, Pa. native scored her first collegiate goal in the first half of the game, which led to the Hawks 2-1 win over the Flames.
