NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure’s Elias Homerin was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, while Fordham’s Brienne Ryan was selected as the league’s Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. Also honored were La Salle’s Johan Roth, who earned Men’s Rookie of the Week, while Fordham’s Anna Marshall was named Women’s Rookie of the Week, as announced by the A-10 office for meets competed Oct. 22-28.

Homerin, a senior, earned Men’s Performer of the Week honors after competing this past week against Canisius. The Rochester, N.Y., native took first place in both the 1000-yd freestyle (9:44.03) and 200 butterfly, posting a time of 1:54.29, breaking Canisius’ Koessler Athletic Center pool record in the event. Homer ranks second and third in the conference in the 1000 freestyle and 200 butterfly.

Ryan, a senior, garnered Women’s Performer of the Week honors after placing first in four individual races and three relays this past week against Marist (Oct. 25) and Fairfield (Oct. 26). The New Windsor, N.Y., native competed in the 100-yd (51.70) and 200-yd (1:53.57) freestyle events, 50-meter freestyle (27.34), and 100-meter butterfly (1:05.34). Ryan was also a part of the winning 400-yd medley relay, and 200-meter medley and freestyle relays.

Roth earned Men’s Rookie of the Week accolades after competing this past week against Villanova. The Western Cape, South Africa, native took first place in the 100-yd and 200-yd breaststrokes, posting times of 58.47 and 2:07.95, which lead the A-10. The Explorer also competed won the 400-yd individual medley with a time of 4:12.82.

Marshall was named Women’s Rookie of the Week after her performances this past week against Marist and Fairfield. The Skillman, N.J., native took first place in the 200-yd breaststroke with a time of 2:25.73 against Marist and came back Friday to take first place in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:15.96) and was a part winning 200-meter medley relay.
