NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure men and Massachusetts’ women lead at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships after day one of competition.

The Bonnies lead with 80 points after taking first place in the 200 medley relay (1:30.0) and 800 medley relay (6:33.68).

Following St. Bonaventure in the standings are Xavier (68), Massachusetts (60), George Washington (58), Saint Louis (56), La Salle (54), and Fordham (52).

The Minutewomen lead with 155 points after taking the top four places in the one meter dive. Placing first was Michaela Butler with 274.35 points. UMass also took second in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:21.60.

Following UMass in the standings after day one are Richmond (101), La Salle (86), Fordham (66), St. Bonaventure (56), Xavier (54), George Washington (50), Duquesne (36), Rhode Island (33), Butler (28), and Saint Louis (26).

The championships resume tomorrow morning with the preliminary events beginning at 10:30 am and finals at 6:30 pm.
