TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - The Florida State pitching staff combined to allow just three hits on Friday night, leading the Seminoles to a 6-1 win over the Rams in the second game of the Tallahassee Regional.

The NCAA leader in wins, Lacey Waldrop picked up her 34th victory of the year, striking out seven and allowing one hit over five innings of work.

Waldrop got the Rams in order to start the contest, and the Seminoles plated the game's first runs in the bottom of the frame.  Courtney Senas singled with one out and ACC Player of the Year Maddie O'Brien moved her to third with a single down the right field line in the next at bat.  A Kelly Hensley sac fly brought home Senas before a Victoria East double to left allowed O'Brien to score.  Bailey Schinella would drive in one more run before the inning was over, and the Seminoles took a 3-0 lead into the second.

Fordham failed to put a runner on board in the top of the second, but Michele Daubman surrendered only one hit and held the Seminoles without a run in the bottom of the frame.

Cora Ianiro recorded the Rams first hit of the contest on a bunt down the third baseline in the top of the third, but the Seminoles responded with another run in the home half, pushing their lead to 4-0 heading into the fourth.

After the Rams went scoreless in the top of the inning, Rachel Gillen entered the game to pitch for Daubman.  The Seminoles plated two in the frame, pushing their advantage to six.

Neither team scored in the fifth and Patti Maloney worked her way out of a jam in the bottom of the sixth to keep the Seminoles' lead at a half dozen.

Amy Van Hoven led off the seventh with an infield single and Elise Fortier narrowly missed a homer in the next at bat, knocking a double off the wall and giving the Rams runners on second and third with no outs.  Two batters later, Van Hoven scored on a passed ball from third, giving the Rams their first run of the game.

The Rams will continue play at the Tallahassee Regional tomorrow at 2:30 PM, when they square off against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
