NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham’s Gabby Luety and Michele Daubman have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played Feb. 3-9. Dayton’s Gabriella Snyder was also honored as the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Luety, a senior from Cortland, N.Y., started off the 2014 season for Fordham batting .833 (5-for-6) with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored as the Rams posted a record of 2-1. She drew five walks over the weekend and recorded a base-hit in every game, including a three-hit performance Sunday against UCF.

Daubman, a junior from North Massapequa, N.Y., registered a 1-1 record in two starts this weekend, tossing a complete game shutout against LIU Brooklyn before surrendering only two hits in a loss to UCF on Sunday.  For the weekend, Daubman pitched 13.0 innings, allowing two runs, zero of them earned, on six hits while striking out eight.

Snyder started all five games for the Flyers over the weekend at the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Classic and went 7-for-15 (.467) at the plate while also pitching 13.1 innings over three appearances. The freshman from Indianapolis, Ind., recorded two multi-hit games over the weekend and pitched a complete game four-hitter against CSU Bakersfield in which she allowed zero earned runs as the Flyers fell, 1-0.
