NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham’s Elise Fortier and Michele Daubman have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played Feb. 10-16. Fordham’s Lauren Quense was also honored as the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Fortier, a senior from Coventry, R.I.., hit two home runs over the weekend, going 4-for-14 at the plate with a pair of doubles as the Rams posted a record of 3-2. Against Ole Miss, Fortier went two-for-three with a home run, a double and three RBI. Overall she drove in a total of five runs for the weekend.

Daubman, a junior from North Massapequa, N.Y., made three starts on the week, going 2-1 with two complete game victories. Against Ole Miss on Friday, Daubman picked up the win after allowing only two earned runs over seven innings of work. After a tough performance against DePaul, Daubman rebounded against the College of Charleston, surrendering only one earned run over seven innings as the Rams got the victory.

Quense made the most of her first career start, shutting out Western Carolina and picking up the game-winning base hit on Sunday morning.  The Langhorne, Pa., native gave up zero runs over seven innings and also drove in the game’s only run.  Quense also contributed three solid innings of relief against DePaul.
