Aragao, a setter from Recife, Brazil, earned her second straight Player of the Week nod after she led the Rams to conference play-opening wins at Dayton and Duquesne with a pair of complete all-around performances. She averaged 10.10 assists per set, as well as 3.20 digs, 1.30 kills and 0.90 blocks while hitting .433. She had 49 assists, seven kills, hitting .389 with 20 digs for a double-double in a win at Dayton, snapping the Flyers’ 33-match home conference winning streak. She followed that with six kills, a .500 hitting percentage, 52 assists and 12 digs in a win at Duquesne. Aragao now has nine double-doubles (assist-digs) this season.
A native of Versailles, Ohio, Campbell posted double-digit blocks in back-to-back matches this weekend averaging an incredible 2.10 blocks/set over the Flyers’ two matches. Campbell, a middle blocker, narrowly missed the double-double in both matches, recording nine kills and 10 blocks against VCU and nine kills to go with a career-high 11 blocks against SLU. The frontline player also had three digs and three aces. The award is Campbell’s second weekly nod of the season. She also won Offensive Player of the Week honors the first week of awards.
Rygelski had a strong opening weekend of conference play, helping the Billikens record a 1-1 week. She notched her sixth double-double of the season in a win over Dayton with 15 kills and 11 digs. She also tallied four blocks in that match. A native of St. Charles, Mo., the freshman outside hitter also had 14 kills at Duquesne and led the Bills with 29 kills in two matches (3.62 per set) last week and on the defensive side, had 14 digs and four blocks.
