Newport News, Va. – Saint Louis’ Danny Brennan and Saint Joseph’s Collin Forgey have been named Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Co-Players of The Week.  UMass right hander Brandon Walsh was named Pitcher of the Week and his teammate Dylan Morris was tabbed A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Brennan continued his hot streak last week. The senior went 7-14 (.500 batting average) with a .929 slugging percentage and a .611 on-base percentage (1.540 OPS). Brennan had one of his best games of the season against Dayton on Sunday, going 2-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored, two RBI and two walks.

Forgey led the Hawks with a .538 average and a 1.226 OPS this week, notching a hit in all four games.  He also drove in a run in each game of SJU’s series against conference rival Richmond. Forgey was hit by a pitch and went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in Friday’s 10-5 win over the Spiders.  His second-inning single tied the game, and he came around to score what would turn out to be the winning run a few batters later.  Forgey was 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, and a sacrifice fly in Saturday’s 5-2 victory, and then closed out the weekend with a two-hit game in SJU’s loss on Sunday.

Walsh pitched in both UMass victories, tossing a total of 11 innings and allowing only one unearned run on seven hits, all singles. He struck out six over the two appearances, while walking just one and limiting opposing batters to a .184 average. He collected his second save of the season as he tossed two scoreless innings against the Huskies last Tuesday and then hurled his first career complete game against the Patriots on Sunday.

Walsh also hit .308 (4-for-13) over three games, starting two behind the plate. He currently leads the Minutemen with a 3.02 earned run average this season over 44.2 innings.

Morris started three-of-four games for the Minutemen on the week, including both victories, and hit a team-best .750 (6-for-8) with four RBI and two runs scored. He also had two sacrifice bunts and a sac fly. The West Barnstable, Mass., native posted three multi-hit games on the week and drove in three runs in UMass' win over George Mason. Against UConn, Morris was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in the 5-4 victory.
