Hendrickson Named One of Perfect Game’s Rising College Coaches
ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head baseball coach Darin Hendrickson has been named one of the Rising College Coaches by Perfect Game. He is one of 10 coaches to receive the distinction.
Hendrickson just completed his sixth season at Saint Louis in 2013, matching the school record in wins at 41. He is the only coach in SLU history to post back-to-back 30-win seasons, a feat he accomplished twice. In his six years as the Billikens’ skipper, Hendrickson has posted a 198-148 record, making him the second-winningest coach in Saint Louis history. Hendrickson guided the Billikens to the NCAA tournament twice and has won the Atlantic 10 title twice.
In his career, Hendrickson has posted a 533-248 record at NCAA four-year institutions, a .682 win percentage. Among active NCAA Division I head coaches with at least five years’ experience, he ranks seventh, just ahead of Hall of Fame Coach Augie Garrido of the University of Texas (1874-871 career record, .680 win percentage).
