ATLANTA – Three Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball standouts have been selected to participate in the Division I College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2013 NCAA® Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and NCAA Final Four®.
Troy Daniels of VCU will be joined by Ramon Galloway of La Salle and Saint Louis’ Kwamain Mitchell on the West squad that will be coached by Fred Hoiberg of Iowa State.
The Reese’s Division I College All-Star game will be played on Friday, April 5, at 5:00 p.m. (EDT), at the Georgia Dome, the site of this week’s championship games as the NCAA celebrates 75 years of March Madness®. The teams are composed of 11 senior student-athletes from NCAA Division I programs across America.
Daniels finished his career second on VCU's 3-pointer list with 251 after his record setting senior year. His 124 treys this year ranked third-most in Atlantic 10 history.
Mitchell was a third-team All-Atlantic 10 selection following the regular season. The senior averaged 10.6 points per game and helped Saint Louis to both the A-10 regular season and tournament championships.
Galloway averaged a team-best 17.2 points per game and led the Explorers in assists (127), 3-pointers (94) and steals (65). Galloway was named to the United States Basketball Writers Association All-District II Team, was a first team All-Atlantic 10 selection and helped lead LaSalle to their deepest run in the NCAA tournament since they played for the championship title in 1955.
