ST. LOUIS - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today that Jim Crews has been named an All-District coach, as selected after a vote of NCAA Division I head coaches.

Crews was one of 27 NCAA Division I head coaches honored as an All-District coach.The NABC will name its Coach of the Year at the Final Four in Atlanta.

Previously, Crews was named Sporting News' National Coach of the Year, the Atlantic 10 Conference Coach of the Year and is one of four finalists for the Naismith Coach of the Year award.

Under Crews' guidance, the Billikens captured regular-season and tournament A-10 championships. SLU, which posted a school-record 28 victories (28-7) this season, earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Saint Louis knocked off New Mexico State in its opening game before being upended by Oregon in the round of 32.

Crews is the first Billiken basketball coach to receive a National Coach of the Year honor since 1994, when Charlie Spoonhour was honored by the USBWA.
