ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis men’s basketball continues to rise in the national rankings. For the first time since the 1964-65 season, the Billikens are in the top 10 in the AP Top 25 this week, checking in at No. 10. Saint Louis is also 10th in the USA Today coaches’ poll.

It is the sixth week in a row SLU has been nationally ranked. This week’s ranking is SLU’s best since it was No. 9 in the Dec. 29, 1964, poll.

The Billikens are 23-2 overall and have won a school-record 17 games in a row. SLU is coming off a 64-62 victory against VCU last Saturday at a sold-out Chaifetz Arena. Saint Louis, which is 10-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, has a three-game lead in the conference standings.

SLU travels to Fairfax, Va., this Wednesday for a matchup against George Mason. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT), and the game will be televised on NBC Sports Network.

Saint Louis is back at Chaifetz Arena Saturday, Feb. 22, when it takes on George Washington in a 7 p.m. tipoff. A small number of tickets are still available and may be purchased by calling 314-977-4SLU or visiting the athletics website at www.slubillikens.com.
