NOTABLE

Saint Louis, which has won a record 19 straight, stayed at No. 10 in the AP Poll, but moved up to No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches’ polls this week. UMass is receiving votes in both polls also.

In the latest Bracketologies, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has five A-10 teams in the Big Dance (UMass, Saint Louis, VCU, George Washington, Saint Joseph’s).Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com has the same five A-10 teams in his bracket. Both of them  list Richmond and Dayton among those just outside the field on the bubble.

The Atlantic 10 is one of three conferences with six teams at 19 or more wins (the American and the ACC are the others) and one of five conferences with four teams that have 20 or more wins (The American, the ACC, the Big 12 and C-USA are the other three).

The A-10 has nine of its 13 teams in the top 100 of the RPI ratings, six teams in the RPI top 50 and seven teams in the top 68 (NCAA Tournament field size). The league also ranks sixth among all conferences in the RPI and has eight teams in the top 100 of both the Pomeroy Ratings and Sagarin Ratings.
