Hoover's 29 Points Helps Dayton to Big Second Half in Win Over SLU
SAINT LOUIS – Junior Andrea Hoover scored a career-high 29 points as No. 25 University of Dayton women’s basketball rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Saint Louis 90-74. The Flyers improve to 18-5 overall and 11-1 in the Atlantic 10 to remain alone atop the conference standings. The Billikens drop to 10-15 overall and 5-7 in A-10 action.
Hoover scored 20 of her career-high 29 points in the second half, including a four-point play with 4:24 to play in the second half that gave UD a 78-61 lead. Hoover also had a game-high seven assists and six rebounds.
Fellow junior Ally Malott scored 23 points (just two off her career high) and added a game-high nine rebounds. Sophomore Amber Deane scored 14 points. Senior Cassie Sant also scored in double figures, notching 10 points to go along with eight rebounds.
The Flyers shot 69 percent in the second half (20-of-29). UD won the battle of the boards 44-33. The Flyers also shot 94.7 percent from the free throw line (18-of-19).
