FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Saint Joseph's will be one of the 16 teams in a competitive field in the 2013 Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament, organization officials announced on Wednesday. The 20th annual tournament will take place from November 8-17, with all games hosted by participating schools.
Coming off the 2013 Atlantic 10 title and NCAA Tournament appearances, the Hawks are one of 10 teams in the field that earned an NCAA Tournament bid last season. Saint Joseph's joins by Georgia State, Gonzaga, Idaho, IPFW, Louisville, Loyola Chicago, LSU, Mount St. Mary's, North Carolina A&T, Oklahoma, Quinnipiac, Stephen F. Austin, Stetson, Tennessee-Martin, and Wichita State to make up the 16-team field.
The Preseason WNIT features a three-game guarantee format. The tournament opens November 8 with first round games. Second round games will be played November 10-11; semifinals will be held November 14; and the championship is set for Sunday, November 17. Teams that lose in the first two rounds will play consolation games on the second weekend, November 15-16.
The championship game will be nationally televised on Sunday, November 17 at 4 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.

Saint Joseph's previously played in the Preseason WNIT in 2004. The Hawks topped Boston University 51-49 in the first round before falling at No. 9/10 Ohio State, 76-29.
The Preseason WNIT began in its modern form in 1994. It is organized and produced by Triple Crown Sports, a national sports event company based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
