NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade announced Thursday that she has promoted Drew Dickerson to Assistant Commissioner and Caitlin Bonner to Director of Advanced Media.

The promotions come following one of the most prolific years in league history, with 13 basketball teams earning postseason bids, including a record six men’s basketball teams making the NCAA Championship.

"Drew has been a valuable staff member working with all of our external media partners and outlets which has resulted in expanded exposure, publicity and excellent P.R. for the conference," stated McGlade.  "His experience, oversight of the communications department and ability to distribute significant conference news has benefited the A10 and our student athletes and members.

“Caitlin is a talented, young professional who has taken the A-10 advanced and social media platforms to new heights.  I believe she is a rising star and the conference is lucky to have her on the A-10 team," McGlade said.

Dickerson will begin his fourth year with the Atlantic 10 this fall, serving the previous three years as the league’s Director of Communications and Media Relations. He will continue to spearhead the A-10 external communications efforts. During his tenure with the league, Dickerson has worked extensively on the A-10’s digital offerings, including the continued evolution of the A-10 Network. He has also guided the league’s public relations efforts through conference realignment and the announcement of membership additions for VCU, George Mason and Davidson. He also has overseen other major A-10 communications efforts, including the “Next” branding campaign, two agreements with the Barclays Center, a record basketball television package and the Atlantic 10’s academic successes. Dickerson joined the Atlantic 10 after serving in similar capacities at Morehead State, Radford and the Big South Conference.

Bonner will begin her third year with the Atlantic 10 after serving as the Advanced Media and Communications Assistant. She will continue her efforts in oversight of the league’s video, social media and website operations. Under Bonner’s direction, the league social media outreach and influence has grown dramatically, including a jump in Twitter followers from 4,500 to over 10,000. She spearheaded the most recent redesign of and established an A-10 Instagram account to increase fan interactions. She improved and expanded the league’s championship pages on, and designed a mobile version that provides fans with championship information on site. Bonner also has grown the A-10 video offerings, playing a role in the implementation of the A-10 Network as well as producing promotional and highlight videos. As part of the communications team, she will continue serving as the media relations contact for women’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis. Bonner was hired in 2012 after starting her career working with the Nashville Sounds baseball club and freelance video operations with the Tennessee Titans.
