NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade announced Tuesday several promotions and additions to the A-10 staff.

McGlade announced that current Senior Associate Commissioner Ed Pasque will be charged with handling the leagues’ external brand management and marketing endeavors while continuing his oversight of the A-10 media partner contract relationships. Additionally, Lucas Feller has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Championships and Tom Waterman has been elevated to Operations Assistant for Championships and Media Relations. Henry Archuleta has been hired for the league’s newly created Director of Compliance position, Beth Bradley has joined the conference in an expanding administrative role and Paul Johnson will serve as a league intern during the 2013-14 academic year.

“The conference members, and I, are fortunate to have strong, skilled staff members who have carried out their duties with integrity and expertise. Expanding their responsibilities is an opportunity for professional growth and the conference services will be enhanced by their experience,” stated McGlade. “It is also a pleasure to welcome Henry Archuleta back to the conference staff as well as a former student–athlete, Beth Bradley and La Salle alumni, Paul Johnson. Each of these staff members will be an asset to the Atlantic 10 and serve the membership well.”

Pasque, who has overseen the A-10’s governance and  NCAA compliance efforts as well as media rights contract agreements since joining the league in 2008, will now focus primarily on the A-10’s external affairs.  He will continue interacting on a daily basis with the conference media rights holders however; Ed will now oversee the A-10 digital strategy, branding efforts, and external marketing strategy-locally, regionally and nationally. The league’s licensing and merchandise agreements, contract oversight and legal/regulatory aspects of the conferences business affairs will continue to be an area of responsibility.  Pasque is a member of the State Bars of Virginia and Wisconsin and is an active member of the Sports Lawyers Association.

As Assistant Commissioner for Championships, Feller’s role will expand to oversee all conference award programs, officiating coordinator personnel and Olympic Championship site selection. Feller, who joined the A-10 as Director of Championships in 2010, will continue to have direct responsibility for day-to-day sport operations and serve as Championship Director for 10 of the league’s 21 sponsored sports and manage the budgets for each area.  Lucas will continue his work with the development of current and future conference schedules optimizing the A-10 Olympic sports ability to compete regionally when possible but also taking advantage of national scheduling opportunities.

After serving as Program Assistant and Coordinator of Special Events in 2012-13, Waterman will now assist both the Championships and Media Relations departments in their respective day-to-day operations. Waterman will serve as the league’s media liaison for cross-country, swimming & diving, softball and indoor and outdoor track & field, while working with the Championship arm of the conference office in regular season and championship administration.  A 2011 graduate of Elon, Waterman joined the A-10 that same year as a media relations intern and has remained with the league since.

Archuleta comes to the A-10 following a stint at the Southland Conference where he served as Director of Compliance Services since September of 2011 and was promoted to Assistant Commissioner in 2012. While at the Southland, Archuleta oversaw day-to-day compliance services for the league and its 14 member institutions.  In his new role with the A-10, Archuleta will handle governance duties, including serving as the primary contact for the National Letter of Intent program, overseeing the NCAA coaches’ certification exam and assisting with rules interpretation and education. A former A-10 intern (2010), Archuleta also interned at A-10 member Richmond in 2009. He is a 2006 graduate of James Madison and he received his Juris Doctorate in 2011 from Marquette School of Law.  He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar.

Beth Bradley will serve as Assistant to the Commissioner before transitioning into the role of Director of Administration.  Bradley will organize A-10 special events including its Legends Celebration as well all of the league’s business meetings and VIP hospitality events at A-10 Championships. Bradley comes to the A-10 after serving on the women’s basketball coaching staff at William & Mary in 2012-13.  Prior to coaching Bradley worked for two plus years as the Regional Development Manager for Operation Smile in Los Angeles, Calif.   A graduate of Lipscomb University with a degree in public relations, Bradley was a volleyball and basketball student-athlete for the Bison.  Bradley earned her master's degree from the University of San Diego in organizational leadership with an emphasis on higher education.

Paul Johnson will assist the league with day-to-day men’s basketball operations as well as working with Pasque on the league’s marketing, merchandizing and licensing efforts. No stranger to the A-10, Johnson is a 2009 graduate of La Salle where he was a member of the Explorers Men’s Basketball team, serving as team-captain during his senior season.  Johnson was a member La Salle’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and graduated with a degree in business administration.  Johnson received his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in May of 2013.
