Newport News, Va..-- Duquesne’s Amanda Kidder has been named the Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, while Richmond goalkeeper Emily Boyce was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Kidder’s teammate Kaelin Shaw was tabbed as Rookie of the Week for the second-time this season.
Kidder scored eight goals and added three assists in a pair of Duquesne wins last week. Against, Marquette, Kidder set a school record with eight caused turnovers and near school record eight ground balls in the win. In a victory against Niagara, Kidder scored five goals and added two assists to go along with three groundballs and three draw controls.
Boyce was key in Richmond’s second-straight road win, a 9-5 decision at Old Dominion on Wednesday. She was credited with seven saves and six ground balls in the victory, pushing the Spiders record over .500, at 3-2. Her save percentage of .583 in the game was her highest of the season to date.
Shaw had three goals on the week for Duquesne. Against Marquette, Shaw scored a pair of goals. In the win over Niagara, Shaw scored a goal and grabbed a pair of groundballs for the Dukes.
