AMHERST, Mass. - After winning the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament, the No. 13 UMass women's lacrosse team (18-1) will face No. 11 Loyola (MD) on Friday, May 9 at the BC Lacrosse Complex in Newton, Mass. The game time is set for 2 PM for the NCAA First Round Game.

The winner will take on the winner of the Boston College vs. Bryant game on Sunday, May 11. Sunday's NCAA Second Round Game will also take place at the BC Lacrosse Complex.

This is the fourth consecutive year that UMass has qualified for the NCAA Tournament and the eighth time overall. The Minutewomen made the NCAA Second Round last season after defeating Connecticut at Penn State.

Friday's game is a rematch of the 2010 NCAA Tournament meeting between UMass and Loyola which was held in Maryland. The Greyhounds won that contest 14-7 in the first NCAA appearance of UMass' current senior class. That UMass senior class has won a total of 72 games which is the second most in that time span among NCAA programs.

The Minutewomen are coming off a 10-6 win over Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Championship Game - the sixth consecutive league championship for the Minutewomen.

Overall, UMass has made seven prior appearances in the NCAA Tournament with a 5-8 overall record. In 1982, UMass won the NCAA National Title - the first one sponsored by the NCAA. UMass also made Final Four appearances in 1983 and 1984.
