Amherst, Mass. - The No. 2 Duquesne Dukes (11-6) defeated No. 3 Temple (9-8) in the second A-10 Championship semifinal game to advance to Sunday's final. The Dukes will face top-seed Massachusetts for the title on Sunday at 1pm on CBS Sports Network.

Duquesne got started early, finding the back of the net twice in the first three minutes with scores from Clare Hurley and Haley Marafioti. Temple struck back with a tally of their own off the stick of Stephany Parcell before the Dukes' offense rattled off five unanswered goals in six minutes, extending their lead to 7-1.

As the first half came to a close, Temple rallied for three goals, cutting their deficit to 8-4. The Owls continued to surge in the early minutes of the second half, scoring two goals in the opening five minutes, but were unable to close the gap.

Junior Haley Marafioti netted four goals for Duquesne, including back-to-back scores early in the second half keep the Owls just out of reach.

The Owls were led by senior Stephany Parcell and freshman Rachel Schwabb, who each recorded three goals in the contest. Seniors Charlotte Swavola and Kellee Pace each added a score for Temple.

With the win, Duquesne will head to the A-10 Championship game for the first time since 2005 to face Massachusetts, who defeated George Washington earlier in the day.

The Championship, which is televised live on CBS Sports Network, will begin at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 28. The winner earns the A-10 automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
