NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Eight student-athletes representing the Atlantic 10 Conference were named to the 2011-12 Capital One Academic All-District and Track & Field/Cross Country teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Capital One and CoSIDA recognize the nation's top student-athletes annually for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom in a variety of sports.

Six of those student-athletes garnered First Team Academic All-District honors and will advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.
