MATCH #1 - RESULTS

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Fourth-seeded Temple outlasted No. 13 Dayton, 4-0, in the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championships, Thursday morning at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va. The Owls will now face fifth-seeded Friday at 10:00 am.

The Owls opened the match with the momentum after securing the doubles point with a pair of 8-2, 8-1 victories at the number two and three tandem positions.

MATCH #2 - RESULTS
#5 XAVIER 4, #12 ST. BONAVENTURE 0
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Fifth-seeded Xavier defeated No. 12 St. Bonaventure, 4-0, during the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship, Thursday morning at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

The Musketeers easily claimed the doubles point, earning a pair of 8-3, 8-2 victories at the number one and three tandem spots. XU extended its advantage, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 on the number five and six courts, before clinching the deciding fourth point at number one singles, as Katie Pleiman defeated St. Bonaventure's Manuela Marin, 6-3, 6-0.

With the win, the Musketeers advances to Friday and will face fourth-seeded Temple at 10:00 a.m.

MATCH #3 - RESULTS
#9 DUQUESNE 4, #8 RHODE ISLAND 3
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - In a thrilling match that lasted almost four hours, ninth-seeded Duquesne upset eighth-seeded Rhode Island during the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, Thursday at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

After the Dukes secured number two doubles, 8-4, the Rams captured number one doubles, 8-6.  Pam Emery and Karolina Wojciak of Rhode Island then outlasted Tara Majdalani and Chandler Consonery of Duquesne in a match that went to a tie break to secure the doubles point.

With each match playing to completion, Duquesne's victory was determined by the number three singles, 7-6 (7), 6-4.  The Dukes advance in the Championship and will face top-seeded Massachusetts at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

#3 RICHMOND 4, #14 LA SALLE 0
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Third-seeded Richmond captured a convincing, 4-0, opening round victory over No. 14 La Salle during the 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

With the win, the Spiders advance in the Championship and will battle sixth-seeded George Washington on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

MATCH #5  - RESULTS
#6 GEORGE WASHINGTON 4, #11 SAINT JOSEPH'S 0
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Sixth-seeded George Washington rolled to a 4-0 triumph over No. 11 Saint Joseph's, during the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, Thursday afternoon at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

With the win, the Colonials advance to Friday of the Championship and will face No. 3 Richmond at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

George Washington jumped out to the early 1-0 advantage, winning at number one and three doubles. Despite leading on singles courts one and three, the Saint Joseph's could not finish those matches before succumbing on courts four, five and six.

MATCH #6 - RESULTS
#10 SAINT LOUS 4, #7 FORDHAM 2
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Tenth-seeded Saint Louis upset seventh-seeded Fordham in a 4-2 during the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship, Thursday afternoon at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

With the win, Saint Louis advances to the next round of the Championship and will face second-seeded Charlotte.

Saint Louis took the early 1-0 advantage in the match with victories on the number one and three doubles courts, band held off Fordham for the victory securing the number four, five and two singles.
