NEWPORT NEWS, Va - The Atlantic 10 Conference named Charlotte's Alex Calott and VCU's Max Wennakoski Men's Tennis Co-Performers of the Week, while fellow 49er Jordi Massalle Ferrer earned Rookie Performer of the Week. VCU's Salome Kvitashvili was named Women's Performer of the Week for the second time this spring, while teammate Yukako Noi was named Women's Tennis Rookie Peformer of the Week. The student-athletes were recognized for matches played March 11 - March 17.

MEN'S TENNIS CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Alex Calott, Charlotte
Sophomore | Charlotte, NC

Calott went undefeated last week, posting both singles and doubles wins in all three of his matches. The sophomore won each of his singles matches last week in straight sets, defeating Catawaba's Mitchell McDonald (6-1, 7-6), Wingate's Roberto Hennis (6-4, 6-2) and Texas Pan American's Alejandro Sanjoja (6-1, 6-0). Calott teamed up with Paul Cisti for three doubles wins from the No. 1 and 2 spots, leading the 49ers to six team wins out of their last seven matches.

MEN'S TENNIS CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Max Wennakoski, VCU
Senior | Helsinki, Finland

Nationally-ranked Wennakoski (21) added two singles victories to their record last week. The senior posted a three-set win over No. 24 Wake Forest's David Hopkins (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) from the top spot, which led to a 4-2 team decision for the Rams. Wennakoski also added a singles victory over Penn's Ismael Lahlou (6-4, 6-3) in a 7-0 sweep, improving the Ram's overall record to 14-4.

MEN'S TENNIS ROOKIE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Jordi Massalle Ferrer, Charlotte
Freshman | Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain

Massalle Ferrer has won nine consecutive singles matches, including three last week in straight sets. The rookie posted wins over Catawba's Jess Goodall (6-0, 6-1), Wingate's Sebastian Hall (6-4, 6-0) and Texas Pan American's Ricardo Hopker (6-2, 6-3) to improve to 21-5 overall. He and partner Jack Williams extended their doubles streak to eight, adding two last week from the number 1 and 2 spots over Catawba and Texas Pan American.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Salome Kvitashvili, VCU
Sophomore| Tbilisi, Georgia

Kvitashvili earned her second A-10 Performer of the Week nod after winning each of her four matches last week. Against No. 20 NC State, the sophomore defeated Elisha Hande in three sets (6-1, 7-6 (7-3)) before pairing with Olga Terteac for a No. 3 doubles win against Chloe Smith and Sophie Nelson to secure the team victory. Against Brown, Kvitashvili posted a No. 4 singles win against Nikita Uberoi (6-4, 6-1) and a No. 3 doubles victory over Ammu Mandalap and Uberoi.

WOMEN'S TENNIS ROOKIE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Yukako Noi, VCU
Freshman

Noi posted two singles wins in her only action last week, helping the Rams to team wins over No. 20 NC State and Brown. The rookie posted a No. 3 singles victory over Rachael James-Baker of NC State (7-5, 6-1) and a No. 2 singles victory against Brown's Hannah Camhi (6-3, 6-3). The Rams improved to 13-4 overall this spring.
