MASON, Ohio—Second-seeded Saint Louis defeated Duquesne 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis Championship Friday at Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The start of the match was delayed three hours due to morning rainshowers.
The Billikens (16-4) won at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles after clinching the doubles point to secure the 4-0 victory. They advance to the quarterfinals to face the winner between No. 3 George Washington and No. 6 Saint Joseph’s at 1:00 pm Saturday.
Aspen Cervin defeated Judy Li at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Natalia Yacaman beat Zuzanna Stelmaszak, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Madison Cook secured the win with a victory at No. 6 singles over Megan Wasson, 6-2, 6-0. Saint Louis opened the match with doubles wins by Stephanie Hollis and Brooke Urzendowski and the team of Cervin and Cook.
Duquesne, which reached the quarterfinals with a win on Thursday, finished the season 7-12.
