NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – George Mason sophomore Ryan Mingachos was named Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, and Rhode Island senior Nils Leifhelm was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week. Saint Joseph's freshman Daniel Morales and Patrick Wilkinson shared the league’s Co-Rookie of the Week honor. The awards are for games played from Sept. 4-10.

Mingachos scored twice against Binghamton on Friday night, including the game-winner in overtime of a 4-3 victory. Mingachos, a midfielder from Danbury, Conn., scored from 15 yards out with less than three minutes left in the first overtime to boost the Patriots past the Bearcats. He also scored in 41st minute to give Mason a 2-1 halftime lead. It was Mingachos' second multi-goal game of the season. He is tied for the team lead with four goals.

Leifhelm posted his 17th and 18th career shutouts in URI's wins over Bryant (Thursday) and Marist (Sunday). The goalkeeper from Munster, Germany, combined for nine saves in the two games - three against the Bulldogs and six against the Red Foxes. It marked the third time in his career that he recorded back-to-back clean sheets, having also done so twice as a freshman.

Morales, a defender from Santa Clarita, Calif., played the full 93:18 in SJU's 2-1 overtime win over Manhattan on Wednesday, and the full 110:00 in SJU's scoreless overtime draw at VMI on Saturday. He is one of just four Hawks to play all 493 minutes on the season.

A midfielder, Wilkinson was a key member of the Billikens' defensive unit that shut out Marquette.  The Overland Park, Kan., product played a full 90 minutes in Saint Louis’ first win of the season.
