NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph’s freshman Quinn Maguire and Saint Louis junior Carly Kissinger have been named Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Co-Players of the Week, while Maguire was also given the league’s Rookie of the Week award. Both awards are for games played from Aug. 28 – Sept. 3.

A forward from Mechanicsburg, Pa., Kissinger led the Billikens to a sterling 2-0 weekend with an offensive outburst. She led the Billikens with two goals, two assists and 14 shots. Against LIU Brooklyn, Kissinger recorded two goals and 10 shots (eight on goal). Her 10 shots are a season-high in the A-10 and her two goals are tied for the A-10 single game best.

Maguire scored the first three goals of her collegiate career this weekend as the Hawks notched a pair of wins. The forward from Media, Pa., tallied early in the second half on Friday to tie the game before her overtime goal gave Saint Joseph's a 2-1 win at Villanova. On Sunday, Maguire netted her third of the weekend to give the Hawks critical breathing room with six minutes to go in the game. Maguire now sits in a tie for second on the team in points and a tie for the team lead in goals after a six-point weekend.
