George Washington's Emily Zhang was named CollegeSwimming.com's Atlantic 10 Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.
The junior from Rockville, Md., earned the honor after winning five of six individual events over two meets at Charles E. Smith Center Pool last week. She also helped the Colonials to a pair of relay victories.
On Friday against Marshall, Zhang won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.08) and 100-yard freestyle (52.53 seconds) and placed second in the 200-yard individual medley. She also swam a leg on GW's winning 200-yard medley relay team.
Zhang was a triple winner Saturday to help the Colonials beat Boston College, 181-119. She captured the 100-yard freestyle (52.97), 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.79) and 200-yard freestyle (1:53.56) and also had a hand in another medley relay victory.
GW has this weekend off before returning to action Nov. 4, hosting A-10 foe Davidson at 10 a.m.
