GEORGE WASHINGTON MEN PREDICTED TO DEFEND A-10 SWIMMING AND DIVING TITLE

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The George Washington men’s swimming and diving team has been selected as the favorites to win the 2019 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship, according to a poll conducted of the league’s head coaches.  The league announced the poll Thursday.

 

The Colonials received seven first-place votes and 61 points in the preseason poll after claiming their second straight A-10 Men’s Swimming & Diving title with 689 team points at last year’s championship.

 

George Mason, the A-10 runner-up in 2018, has been predicted to finish second this season with one first-place vote and 52 points in the poll. La Salle was selected third with 50 points, followed by Massachusetts (38 points) and Fordham (24). St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, and Davidson rounded out the poll.

 

The 2019 A-10 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be held February 20-23 at the SPIRE Institute located in Geneva, Ohio.
