Noelle Theodoulou Named A-10 Women's Swimming Performer of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham sophomore Noelle Theodoulou was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week while her Fordham teammate Alexia Hodorski and Duquesne’s Sawyer Weitzel shared Rookie Performer of the Week Accolades. The awards, the final set of the season, are for meets held from Feb. 4-10
Theodoulou placed first in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.08 seconds in the NYU Invitational over the weekend, after posting a season-best time of 53.61 in the preliminaries. She also took fourth in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:18.17, and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.57.
Hodorski won an event at the NYU Invitational over the weekend, taking the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.58 seconds. She was also second to Theodoulou in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.23 seconds, while being sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.77).
Weitzel set a new school record in the 3-meter dive with a score of 265.30, good for a second-place finish at the Rich Sentner Dive Invitational hosted by Westminster College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon. She added a fourth-place mark in the 1-meter board at 244.60.
