PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw named Scott Yurgalevicz, an assistant under recently departed head men's coach Brad Kane, as the Director of Golf/Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach on Monday. Additionally, current women's assistant coach Kendal Olear was tabbed Associate Head Women's Golf Coach.

"We are pleased to promote both Scott and Kendal into leadership positions within our golf programs," Bradshaw said. "Their familiarity with La Salle University, combined with their successful experience here, will help make the transition for our student-athletes a smooth and prosperous one."

Yurgalevicz spent two seasons under the tutelage of Kane, and played a role in lifting La Salle's men's golf program to new heights. Over the last two seasons, the Explorers have set program records in numerous individual and team categories, including best scoring average for a single year (301.7 in 2016-17). Recently graduated P.J. Acierno collected all three of his career individual titles over the past two seasons and set a new school record with a 74.0 stroke average this past season.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be the Director of Golf at LaSalle University, and look forward to working with Kendal to build both programs into conference contenders," Yurgalevicz said. "We have two great programs here, with a men's team that has set new records and is trending in a great direction. We have great upperclassmen leadership with Brandon [Raihl], Nick [Geiman], and Nick [Gruber], and a group of incoming freshman that may be our most polished yet," Yurgalevicz continued.

"We also have a women's program that has a few players coming off injury and a strong recruiting class that will help project us up the field in tournaments," Yurgalevicz continued. "I look forward to taking my skills as a high level golf instructor and applying it to our practice sessions, practice rounds, and tournament rounds."

Yurgalevicz also spent one season as the head men's golf coach at Rosemont College. Prior to his tenure at Rosemont, Yurgalevicz was the owner and head teaching professional at Yur Golf Swing at the Umbria Golf Center.

He also spent three years as an assistant golf professional at Radnor Valley Country Club, has been a certified golf instructor at GolfTec and has worked at DuPont Country Club and Chester Valley Golf Club. An active member of the golf community, Yurgalevicz has been published by GolfWRX.com and in Golf Tips Magazine, a publication that recently named him a Top 30 Golf Instructor.

Olear helped former head coach Jason Calhoun in the first season of the women's golf program at La Salle in 2016-17, and began her tenure at the school following a four-year career at Millersville.

The Honey Brook, Pa. native started four years for the Marauders, earning medalist honors at the Millersville Invitational as a freshman. She also accumulated five top-10 performances over her career.

Olear graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and is currently working towards her master's degree at La Salle.
