As Diversity and Inclusion Week Wraps Up, A-10 Student-Athletes Pledge To...
The student-athletes of the Atlantic 10 Conference, through the A-10 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and each school's campus SAAC are participating in a week-long celebration of diversity and inclusion. Friday was the fifth and final day of this campaign.
This celebration is part of the NCAA's Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign, which is being conducted by the association's Minority Opportunity and Interests Committee and the national SAAC. The goal of this campaign is to use social media to create a dialogue on diversity and inclusion and to communicate the benefit of inclusive environments to the student-athlete experience.
Each day has a unique theme, and each day Atlantic10.com will showcase social media posts from A-10 student-athletes related to this theme. Friday’s theme is "I pledge to..., " which is about committing to a personal action plan for inclusion.
Below are posts from around the A-10 on the I pledge to… theme:
“We pledge to support diversity and inclusion by setting a good example for the classes beneath us. We pledge to continually instill the SJU culture of “family” and the understanding that we strive to live greater on and off the field.”#sjusaac @atlantic10 #A10Inclusion pic.twitter.com/w6kJ8Tu9gp— SJU SAAC (@SaacSju) October 5, 2018
“We pledge to show support to our fellow student-athletes and get more involved in the community. We pride ourselves on diversity and inclusion through embracing the different cultures and backgrounds throughout our team and the school. “ - @GeorgeMasonTFXC #A10Inclusion pic.twitter.com/vxEjE97RqI— Mason SAAC (@MasonSAAC_SAM) October 5, 2018
