"One of my favorites by the URI campus is Matunuck Oyster Bar. From the fresh seafood choices and the scenery, there is simply no place better!"

--Thorr Bjorn, Director of Athletics

"Matunuck Oyster Bar - my family and I love it there.  Perry Raso (owner) is a good friend, a URI alum, and a big supporter of all our teams.  The Mews Tavern is also high on the list; it’s a great spot close to campus."

--Dan Hurley, Head Men’s Basketball Coach

"Our kids love Crazy Burger in Narragansett but I’d say the both the kids and the coaches are big fans of Ocean Mist in Matunuck. Their mexican food is amazing!

--Shelagh Donohoe, Head Coach, Rhody Rowing

"I love the fish & chips at Ocean Mist. And for dessert, Brickley’s Ice Cream in Wakefield. Everyone in our program loves their ice cream."

Jess Lizzi, Associate Head Coach, Rhody Rowing

"Get the shrimp pizza at Brick Alley Pub in Newport. It’s not on the menu, so you have to ask for it. And their salad bar is amazing."

--Gina Sperry, Associate AD/SWA

"Champlin’s Seafood in Point Judith is a family favorite. Can’t go wrong with their fish & chips."

--John Melnick, Assistant Women’s Track & Field Coach

"Sweetcakes by the rotary in Peace Dale. They bake their own bread; my favorite is their ham & swiss on wheat with siracha sauce."

--Paul Kassabian, Associate AD/Compliance

"The Celestial Cafe on Rt. 2. Farm to table food, great specials - it’s a hidden gem!

--Kacey Light, Assistant Director of Compliance

"I really like Dan’s Place in West Greenwich. Their menu is extensive but I like their pizza."

--Kathy Burke, Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics

"Rhody Joe’s is our favorite lunch spot. Go with either the cheese pizza with buffalo sauce (SD) or the balsamic chicken salad (JP).

--Media Relations Coordinators Shane Donaldson & Jodi Pontbriand

"Gansett Wraps in Narragansett. Everything there is fresh and delicious and their chicken caesar salad is the best in the world. I’m not exaggerating - the entire world.

--Mike Laprey, Associate AD/Media Relations

"I’d recommend two restaurants in Narragansetts - Spain and Arturo Joe’s. At Spain, the service is impeccable and the food is always outstanding. Arturo Joe’s has large portions, a wide variety of choices, and a great atmosphere."

--Vinny Turco, Assistant AD/Operations

"The Coast Guard House in Narragansett. Can’t beat the views from their deck in the summer and the food is always good."

--Garrett Waller, Associate AD/Athletics Development

"The Mews Tavern. Got to go with the Muggle Pie everytime."

--John May, Assistant Director, Athletics Development

"The Mews is one of the best places to go for a bit to eat before and after the Rhody games. I usually get the Harvest Salad. It is fabulous. My husband Tom usually gets the Fish & chips."

--Sue Bergen, Atlantic 10 Conference Assistant Commissioner/Director of Finance
