Championships/Media Relations Intern - July 8
Description
The Atlantic 10 Conference is accepting applications for its Championships/Media Relations internship, which is a paid, 10-month position that will allow hard-working, enthusiastic individuals the opportunity to gain valuable experience in both media relations and championships in a conference setting.
Championship Duties
Duties will include, but are not limited to, assist with the preparation and follow-up of each of the Conference's 21 championships; assist with host institutions and sport committees; provide on-site championship support; assist/coordinate marketing and promotional activities in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience at A-10 Championships.
Media Relations Duties
Serve as the primary media support staff for several Olympic sports; write feature stories and assist with compiling video for the Atlantic 10 website (www.atlantic10.org); lend support in the coordination of the media and public relations efforts for the 2011 Atlantic 10 Men's & Women's Basketball Championships.
Requirements
Candidates for the Media Relations/Championships internship must have a college degree and possess strong writing and organizational skills. Experience in media relations, event management and/or administration; experience in collegiate athletics preferred. Applicants should have strong computer skills, including graphic design experience (QuarkXpress, InDesign).
