NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Two outstanding offensive performances from UMass senior Brittany Moore and La Salle junior Kelsey Haycook headline the Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards, earning both Co-Player of the Week honors. Saint Joseph’s Emily Gingrich and Deja Davis were also named Co-Rookies of the Week, the league announced Monday morning for games Oct. 14-20.

Moore scored all five goals for the Minutewomen last weekend for a total of 10 points, including a hat trick against Rhode Island, the first for a Minutewoman since 2010. On Sunday, the Westbrook, Conn., product tallied both UMass goals against Fordham, falling in double-overtime, 3-2. Moore leads the team with eight goals and 18 points, and is tied for second in the league with five goals in conference play. The Minutewomen improved to 6-8-2 and 2-3-1 in A-10 play, and will travel to Richmond on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Haycook exploded for an eight-point game, an A-10 single-game high, in a 6-0 win against Saint Joseph’s. Haycook found teammate Anna Dolhansky twice in a 30 second span to give the Explorers an early 2-0 lead. In the second half, the Point Pleasant, N.J., native netted three goals in less than four minutes for a hat trick, scoring her 11th, 12th and 13th goals of the season. Her 13 goals this season places her fourth all-time at La Salle, just four behind the record (17) and her 38 career goals puts her just two goals shy of the all-time record set by Amy Schneider in 2002 (40). With the win, the Explorers improved to 10-3-2 (2-1-1 A-10) and will continue conference play at St. Bonaventure on Friday, Oct. 25.

Gingrich’s sixth goal of the season came in the final five minutes against Rhode Island, forcing an overtime period in which Saint Joseph’s would prevail, 2-1. The forward from Shillington, Pa., lofted a shot to the left side of the goal, tying the game at 1-1, before Mo Hawkins tallied the game-winner. This is the second Rookie of the Week award for Gingrich, whose six goals and 14 points lead the Hawks. Saint Joseph’s is 6-6-3 (2-2-1 A-10) heading into their last three conference games and will play their final road game against St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Oct. 27.

La Salle freshman Deja Davis recorded her first collegiate goal in a 6-0 win against Saint Joseph’s last weekend. With just over 13 minutes remaining in the game, Davis buried a pass from Anna Dolhansky for the sixth and final goal of the game. The Montclair, N.J., rookie has played in all 15 games for the Explorers.

Highlighted by Moore’s and Haycook’s performances, an exciting weekend of A-10 play also saw three games that were decided in extra periods. Dayton’s Sarah Senoyuit kept the Flyers perfect in the A-10 with an overtime goal to defeat Saint Louis 3-2, while Richmond transfer Shannon Colligan registered a double-overtime tally to lift Richmond over George Mason, 2-1. Saint Joseph’s Mo Hawkins scored her fourth game-winning goal of the season in a 2-1 overtime win against Rhode Island.
