Leavitt tied for the individual medalist - and lost in the second playoff hole - at the 79th Annual NEIGA Championship, held at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. An Atkinson, N.H. native, Leavitt shot a 1-under par total of 143 for the 36-hole tournament, opening with a 71 and closing with a final round 72. McNulty, from Scituat, Mass., opened the three-round tournament with a 72 and closed with a 77, but his second round was a stellar 64, the lowest round of the strong 13-team field that had four players finish at five under or better.
Walthouse posted his second consecutive top-10 finish, placing fifth overall at the NEIGA Championship. The newcomer from Longmeadow, Mass., posted scores of 73 and 75 for the two-day, 36-hole tournament, finishing with a total score of 148 (+4), helping Rhode Island place second in the 38-team field.
