Baseball Player of the Week
Ryan Metzroth - Richmond
Senior, OF, 6-3, 220 lbs.
Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura HS

Metzroth went 7-for-12 with eight RBI, eight runs scored and five extra-base hits in Richmond's three-game sweep of Niagara (Feb. 21-22)...homered in his first at-bat of the season and doubled-in the game-winning run in the Spiders' 8-6 win over Niagara on Feb. 21...added two walks and a pair of stolen bases.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Chaz Salembier - Saint Louis
Senior, RHP, 6-1, 195 lbs.
Ann Arbor, Mich./Clayton (Mo.) HS

Salembier tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn a win and a save in the Billikens' opening four games at Cal State Bakersfield...fanned the only two hitters he faced to secure the victory on Feb. 20 as Saint Louis edged Cal State Bakersfield, 8-7...pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win as SLU edged No. 30 UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 22, 8-7.

Baseball Rookies of the Week
Nathan Mutsch - Xavier
Freshman, RHP, 6-5, 240 lbs.
Alexandria, Ky./Brossart HS

Making his first collegiate start on Feb. 21, Mutsch allowed one earned run over five innings to earn the win as visiting Xavier turned aside North Carolina State, 8-3...fanned three and walked just one.

Tyler Pilkington - Charlotte
Freshman, LHP, 5-10, 190 lbs.
Waxhaw, N.C./Weddington HS

Pilkington yielded just one run on three hits with nine strikeouts over six innings on Feb. 22 in Charlotte's 6-5 (10) loss at No. 19 Clemson...he left the game in the seventh with a 5-1 lead...walked one and allowed only four base runners through the first six innings.

Softball Player of the Week
Katie Johns - Saint Louis
Senior, First Base, The Dalles, Ore./The Dalles HS

Johns led Saint Louis with an .875 batting average at the Tulsa Select Festival on Feb. 20-22...went 7-for-8 with two doubles, four runs and four walks with no strikeouts...was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored versus South Dakota State on Feb. 20...posted a 1.125 slugging percentage last weekend in addition to a .923 on base percentage...team leader with a .571 average for the season.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brandice Balschmiter - Massachusetts
Senior, Pitcher, Newark, N.Y./Newark HS

Balschmiter carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning against defending national champion Arizona State on Feb. 22, finishing the game with a complete-game, two-hit, eight-strikeout 1-0 shutout of the #3/#7 Sun Devils...struck out the #1 overall pick in the National Pro Fastpitch Draft, Kaitlin Cochran, in all three at-bats...tossed six innings of three-hit shutout ball against N.C. State on Feb. 20, recording four strikeouts in the victory...struck out a total of 20 batters in four games, including three top 10 opponents.

Softball Rookie of the Week
Lindsey Bright - Fordham
Freshman, Outfielder, Federal Way, Wash./Decatur HS

Bright hit .500 on the week (7-for-14) and reached base in 13-of-17 plate appearances...had a .571 slugging percentage...posted three runs scored, two stolen bases and three walks...was 3-for-4 with a run scored against Providence on Feb. 20...had a double and a run scored in the Rams' win over FAU on Feb. 21...posted a hit, two walks and a stolen base against Arkansas on Feb. 21...was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base at FIU on Feb. 22...improved her batting average to a team-best .464 this season to go with six runs and a team-high five stolen bases.

Lacrosse Player of the Week
Allison Furstenburg - Richmond
Senior, Attack, Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Region HS

Furstenburg led the Spiders with eight goals on the week...notched five of the team's eight goals in a loss at #9 North Carolina on Feb. 22...added three goals in a 14-9 loss at #2 Duke on Feb. 20.

Suzy Herlihy - Saint Joseph's
Senior, Goalkeeper, Clarksville, Md./River Hill HS

Herlihy gave up just two goals stopping five shots in a 14-2 win over Lafayette on Feb. 21...also made four saves on free-position shot opportunities.

Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Julie Mineweaser - Saint Joseph's
Freshman, Midfield, Harleysville, Pa./North Penn HS

Mineweaser tallied three goals an added an assist for four points in a 14-2 win over Lafayette on Feb. 21...also had two caused turnovers and a ground ball in her second collegiate contest.

Men's Tennis Performer of the Week
Doug Matthews - Xavier
Senior, Maineville, Ohio/Kings HS

Matthews went a perfect 4-for-4 in singles and doubles matches this weekend, playing all four at the highest flights without dropping a set in singles action...led the Musketeers to a pair of 5-2 wins over Butler on Feb. 17 (6-4, 6-4) and Saint Louis on Feb. 20 (6-0, 7-5)...picked up a pair of doubles wins, besting both Butler and Saint Louis, 8-6...ranks second all-time in program history for both career doubles victories and overall wins, as well as sixth all-time in career singles victories.

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Austin Wiegand - Dayton
Freshman, San Antonio, Texas/Churchill HS

Wiegand led the Flyers to a 2-1 record last week, collecting victories against Ohio Dominican on Feb. 18 (6-2, 6-2) from the fourth flight and Northern Kentucky on Feb. 20 (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) from the sixth flight...posted a perfect 3-0 mark in doubles action, winning 8-5 over Ohio Dominican from the No. 1, followed by an 8-2 win against NKU from the No. 2 and a 9-8 (3) victory against Lipscomb at No. 3.

Women's Tennis Performer of the Week
Kara Courtney - Xavier
Senior, Newburgh, Ind./Reitz Memorial HS

Courtney notched a pair of victories last week, winning 6-4, 6-0 from the first flight against Saint Louis on Feb. 20...also picked up a second-flight doubles victory (8-6), which is tied for eighth place all-time at Xavier...with her singles victory she moved into sole possession of 10th place on the Musketeers' list for career victories (70).

Yudeshnee Pillay - Charlotte
Senior, Johannesburg, South Africa/St. Dunstan's College Prep

Pillay won her No. 1 singles and doubles matches on Feb. 20, topping her opponent from Western Carolina in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) to remain unbeaten this spring...the win increased her team-leading singles record to 11-3 on the season...also tallied an 8-0 double's win to improve her season ledger to 12-3 with teammate Ana Spivakovsky.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Loni Dickerhoof - Dayton
Freshman, Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Jackson HS

Dickerhoof defeated No.1 opponent from Northern Kentucky on Feb. 21 (2-6, 6-3, 6-3)...also notched an 8-1 doubles victory from the second flight.
