Men's Soccer Players of the Week
Florian DeCamps - Dayton
Senior, Forward, Cannes, France/Lycee Bristol HS
DeCamps earned MVP honors at the Dayton Flyer Courtyard by Marriott Tournament over the weekend after tallying three goals, including both game-winners, for six points...scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Marshall on Sept. 19...scored two goals in a 5-0 shutout of Robert Morris on Sept. 21, his first career multi-goal game...leads the Flyers with four goals and tied for team lead in game-winning goals (two).
Andy Stadler - George Washington
Junior, Forward, Wauwatosa, Wisc./Wauwatosa West HS
Stadler scored all three of George Washington's goals in a 2-0 week for the Colonials...notched the lone tally in a 1-0 win at Navy on Sept. 16...added both goals in a 2-0 win at American on Sept. 20...leads the A-10 in goals scored (seven) and total points (15).
Men's Soccer Rookies of the Week
Ryan Meara - Fordham
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Yonkers, N.Y./Fordham Prep
Meara posted his second and third shutouts of the season this week after a 1-0 win over Manhattan on Sept. 17 and a 3-0 victory at Marist on Sept. 20...posted four saves in each game...lowered his goals against average to 1.06 on the year and now boasts a 3-3-1 record in his first season in goal.
Tyler Picard - Dayton
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Denver, Colo./Regis Jesuit HS
After battling a preseason injury, Picard has stepped in as the starting goalkeeper and posted two shutout wins in his first complete week of play...named to the Dayton Flyer Courtyard by Marriott All-Tournament team after earning a 1-0 win over Marshall on Sept. 19 and a 5-0 shutout over Robert Morris on Sept. 21...made five saves on the weekend and has a 0.33 goals against average after 270 total minutes in goal.
Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Therese Smith - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Midfielder, Holyoke, Mass./Holyoke HS
Smith registered her first career multi-goal game on Sept. 17 as Massachusetts edged Albany, 2-1...marked her first game-winning goal of the season...ranks second on the team in goals (two) and points (five).
Women's Soccer Rookies of the Week
Oni Bernard - Charlotte
Freshman, Forward, Toronto, Ontario/Agincourt Collegiate HS
Bernard scored Charlotte's first two goals in the 49ers' 6-0 win over Francis Marion on Sept. 21 in their lone match of the week...her first goal came just 27 seconds into the contest...is tied for second on the team in points with ten.
Erese Fair - Rhode Island
Freshman, East Northport, N.Y./Northport HS
Fair tallied a goal and three assists on Sept. 21 as Rhode Island rolled past Manhattan, 6-0...added an assist in the Rams' 2-0 victory over Vermont on Sept. 17...ranks third on the team in points (six).
Field Hockey Player of the Week
Sarah Schrott - Richmond
Senior, Midfielder, Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Christian HS
Schrott scored a goal and added an assist in Richmond's 4-3 overtime victory over William & Mary on Sept. 21...she leads the Spiders with three assists on the year.
Field Hockey Rookie of the Week
Katelin Peterson - Richmond
Freshman, Forward, Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS
Peterson scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the Spiders' 4-3 overtime victory against William & Mary on Sept. 21...also tallied an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 8 James Madison on Sept. 20...she leads Richmond with 11 points through her first seven collegiate games...marks the second time she has garnered A-10 Rookie of the Week honors.
Volleyball Player of the Week
Whitney Roth - Saint Louis
Junior, Setter, Louisville, Ky./Assumption HS
Roth was named to the Penn State All-Tournament team after leading her squad to a 2-1 weekend...averaged 9.1 assists, 2.7 digs and 1.4 kills per set while hitting .444 with only two errors in 27 attempts...recorded double-doubles in two of three matches, including a near triple-double with 43 assists, 11 digs and six kills in a 3-1 win over New Hampshire on Sept. 19...leads the league in assists per set (10.98).
Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Tricia Mullen - Duquesne
Freshman, Outside Hitter, Botkins, Ohio/Botkins Local School
Mullen averaged 2.7 kills and 3.4 digs per set to lead the Dukes in three matches over the weekend...had a career-best 13 kills in a sweep over Chicago State on Sept. 20...posted 14 digs versus both Ohio State and Kent State on Sept. 19...added nine kills versus Kent State...rookie is second on the squad in kills per set averaging 2.69...second Rookie of the Week honor.
Golf Player of the Week
Kevin Busteed - Temple
Senior, Peckville, Pa./Valley View HS
Busteed carded a career-best 68 (-2) on Sept. 20, leading Temple to a fourth-place finish at The McLaughlin Tournament...his three-round score of 70-73-68 (211) was also a career-low and he tied for sixth in the 93-player field...his final round was the third-lowest score of the day.
Golf Rookie of the Week
Martin Liu - George Washington
Freshman, Hong Kong, China/Shatin College
Appearing in his first collegiate event, Liu placed third overall by shooting a 76-72 (148) at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational on Sept. 15...Liu tallied 23 pars in the event and averaged 3.17 strokes on the par-3 holes, tied for third-lowest in the field...aided George Washington to a second place team-finish.
Women's Cross Country Performers of the Week
Maureen Bulgrin - Dayton
Sophomore, Munroe Falls, Ohio/Akron Archbishop Hoban HS
Bulgrin earns her second A-10 Performer of the Week award of the season after turning in a personal-best time of 18:21 at the National Catholic Invite at Notre Dame on Sept. 19...placed eighth out of 287 competitors...UD finished second in the 35-team field.
Shiyi Zan - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden HS
Zan posted a winning time of 18:21 in Massachusetts' home meet versus Colgate, Maine and Vermont on Sept. 20...field consisted of 66 runners...the Minutewomen placed third in the four-team field.
Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Hannah Ringo - Duquesne
Freshman, Solon, Ohio/Solon HS
Ringo finished 14th in a field of 287 runners on Sept. 19 at the National Catholic Invite at Notre Dame...posted a personal-best time of 18:34...was the top Duquesne runner...named the A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time...the Dukes placed fifth out of 35 teams.
Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week
Josh Eddy - Duquesne
Senior, Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills HS
Eddy placed third out of 267 runners on Sept. 19 at the National Catholic Invite at Notre Dame with a time of 25:00...named the A-10 Performer of the Week for the second time this season...Duquesne took home the team title in the 33-team field.
Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Kevin McDonnell - Saint Joseph's
Freshman, Moorestown, N.J./Camden Catholic HS
Competing at the Paddy Doyle/Iona Meet of Champions on Sept. 20, McDonnell placed 42nd out of 277 runners with a time of 25:36.6...finished third among freshmen competitors...SJU placed 11th in the 24-team field.
