Men's Soccer Players of the Week
Ben Arikian - Massachusetts
Sophomore, Midfielder, West Islip, N.Y./West Islip HS

Arikian netted four points on a goal and a pair of assists in a pair of win over No. 10 Saint Louis and Charlotte to help UMass clinch the regular season title...set up both goals, including the golden goal, in the 2-1 double-overtime win over SLU on Nov. 7...scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Charlotte.

Bret Mollon - Temple
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Washington, Mich./Notre Dame HS

Mollon posted his eighth and ninth shutout of the season this weekend, tying the school record for shutouts in a season and giving the Owls a No. 2 seed in the A-10 Championship...posted two saves in a 0-0 tie with Fordham on Nov. 7...had five saves in a 1-0 win over La Salle on Nov. 9...finished the regular season with a 0.85 goals against average.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Ryan Meara - Fordham
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Yonkers, N.Y./Fordham Prep

Meara posted back-to-back shutouts to help the Rams clinch the fifth-seed in the A-10 Championship...made six saves in a 0-0 tie with Temple on Nov. 7...had three saves in a 4-0 win over Saint Joseph's on Nov. 9...finished with eight shutouts on the season, the most ever by a Fordham freshman...lowered his goals against average to 0.92...second Rookie of the Week honor.

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year
Whitney Weinraub - Charlotte
Sophomore, Forward, Holland, Pa./Council Rock South HS

Weinraub ranks among the league leaders in goals (12), assists (10) and points (34)...has three game-winning goals...ranks second on the team with 43 shots...twice named A-10 Player of the Week.

Women's Soccer Midfielder/Student-Athlete of the Year
Hailey Beam - Charlotte
Junior, Midfielder, Cornelius, N.C./Texas Tech University HS

Beam earns A-10 Midfielder of the Year distinction after scoring a league-leading and program-best 17 goals...leads the Conference in assists (13) and points (47)...has five game-winning tallies...boasts a team-high 50 shots...three-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week selection...led Charlotte to its third consecutive regular season title and second straight A-10 Championship...maintains a 3.87 grade point average as a finance major.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
Lauren Bustos - Fordham
Junior, Backer, Altadena, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart HS

Bustos anchored a Fordham defense that registered eight shutouts, including five in league play, and limited 13 opponents to one goal or less...started all 20 contests...is just the third Fordham defender to garner All-Conference first-team honors.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year
Jen Pfeiffer - Saint Joseph's
Freshman, Forward, Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape HS

Pfeiffer joins Megan Schutt (2003) as the lone players in program annals to be named A-10 Rookie of the Year...scored a team-high ten goals and finished her freshman campaign with 21 points...also led the team in shots with 57...earned second-team All-Conference honors.

Women's Soccer Coach of the Year
Manoj Khettry - St. Bonaventure
Third season

Khettry earns his first Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year award after leading St. Bonaventure to a program-best six Conference victories, its second-ever A-10 Championship berth and first since 1999....the Bonnies finished the season with an overall mark of 11-8-1, including a 6-4-1 mark in league action.

Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year
Katelyn Orlando - Massachusetts
Senior, Forward, Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex HS

Orlando finishes the regular season with 29 total points on the season...paces the Conference in goals and is tied for the lead in points...established career-highs in both categories and netted four game-winning goals, good for second in the A-10...tallied seven goals against Conference opponents...A-10 Player of the Week on Oct. 13 after scoring three goals, two of which were game-winners against A-10 foes...the program's first student-athlete to garner Offensive Player of the Year honors since the award's inception in 2000.

Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year
Mary Catherine Kinneman - Temple
Senior, Back, Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic HS

Kinneman started every game for the Owls as the second-year team captain...notched a career-high five assists, which is tied for sixth in the A-10...played on both attack and defensive corners as the corner hitter and right trail...anchors a defensive unit that blanked three opponents this season.

Field Hockey Rookies of the Year
Katelin Peterson - Richmond
Freshman, Forward, Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS

Peterson finished the regular season tied for the Conference lead in points (29) and ranked second in goals with 12...named the A-10 Rookie of the Week four times...named Player of the Week on Oct. 27 after posting a school-record four goals versus West Chester, which is tied for the single-game high nationally this season.

Alesha Widdall - Massachusetts
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point HS

Widdall leads the A-10 in goals against average (1.01) and tied for tops in the league with four shutouts...her .788 save percentage also led the Conference and ranks 11th in the nation... named the A-10 Rookie of the Week twice during the 2008 season and won nine of her last 10 contests.

Field Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year
Charise Young - Temple
Junior, Forward, Harleysville, Pa./Christopher Dock HS

Young earned led the Owls in goals (8) and points (23)...her .333 shot percentage also led the team, while her seven assists tied for tops in the A-10...named to the NFHCA National Academic Team, as well as the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2006 and 2007...a secondary education major, Young was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team in 2007.

Field Hockey Coach of the Year
Justine Sowry - Massachusetts
Second season

Sowry garners her second consecutive A-10 Coach of the Year honor after leading UMass to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship...with a 6-0 Conference ledger, her squad claimed the league's regular season crown, the program's first outright title since 2001...1991 graduate of the University of South Australia, Sowry is the first coach in A-10 history to win the award in consecutive years.

Volleyball Players of the Week
Sammi McCloud - Saint Louis
Junior, Outside Hitter, Columbia, Ill./Columbia HS

McCloud powered the No. 21 Billikens to a pair of shutouts against Duquesne and Rhode Island lats weekend...averaged 4.00 kills per set (24 total) for a .396 hitting percentage in six sets and added 2.16 digs per set...narrowly missed a double-double at Duquesne on Nov. 6 with a match-high 11 kills and nine digs...against Rhode Island on Nov. 9, led all players in with 13 kills while at a hitting .440 clip with four digs, two aces and two blocks.

Yun Yi Zhang - Temple
Junior, Outside Hitter, Shanghai, China/Gezhi HS

Zhang had 22 kills with just three errors to post a .528 hitting percentage in a three-set victory over Long Island on Nov. 5...had seven digs and one block to help the Owls improve to 14-11 overall.

Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Leah Leventhal - Charlotte
Freshman, OH, Gainesville, Fla./Sante Fe HS

Leventhal just missed her first career double-double with career-highs in kills and digs on Nov. 6 against George Washington...recorded nine kills and 13 digs in the loss...on Nov. 8, she garnered five kills and 12 digs at Fordham...averaged 2.77 digs and 1.56 kills per set...scored 19 points, including one block and four service aces, on the weekend.

Golf Player of the Week
David Rawluk - Charlotte
Senior, Dublin, Ireland/Malahide HS

Rawluk posted his first top 20 finish in the 49ers varsity lineup...as the 49ers' top finisher, he shot a +4, 220 at the CordeValle Collegiate on Nov. 3-5...Rawluk led the 49ers to the fifth-place finish against some of the top teams in the nation...carded a career-low four-under par-68 in round two, which was the only round in the 60's in the entire tournament that day.

Golf Rookie of the Week
Paul Ferrier - Charlotte
Freshman, Edinburgh, Scotland/Currie

Ferrier, making his first appearance in the 49ers' starting lineup, finished with a share of 18th-place to help the 49ers to a fifth-place finish at the CordeValle Collegiate on Nov. 3-5...shot a +6, 222 to tie for 18th ...shot an even-par round of 72 on the first day.

Women's Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
Amanda Goetschius - Charlotte
Sophomore, Franklinville, N.J./Delsea Regional HS

Goetschius captured the individual title on Nov. 1 at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships in a time of 17:37.7...marked the third-fastest time in Conference annals...Charlotte finished second in the 14-team field, its highest-ever finish since joining the A-10 in 2005.

Women's Cross Country Most Outstanding Rookie
Katrina Spratford - Richmond
Freshman, Califon, N.J./Voorhees HS

Spratford finished sixth overall and tops among freshmen with a time of 18:15.4 at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1...placed third among UR runners...Richmond claimed its second-ever A-10 title and first since 2003.

Men's Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
Adu Dentamo - Charlotte
Junior, Charlotte, N.C./Vance HS

Dentamo claimed the individual title at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1 with a time of 24:01.9...marked the third-fastest time in Conference history...named to the All-Conference team for the third time...Charlotte finished fourth in the 14-team field.

Men's Cross Country Most Outstanding Rookie
Nick Crits - La Salle
Freshman, Wissahickon, Pa./Wissahickon HS

Crits was the top freshman finisher on Nov. 1 at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships with a time of 25:04.9...placed 27th in a field of 300 runners...was the third Explorer to cross the finish line...La Salle placed fifth out of 14 teams.

Women's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Shannon Duval - La Salle
Junior, Trinidad & Tobago, Holy Name HS

Duval captured three gold medals on Nov. 8 in La Salle's 171-125 win over St. Bonaventure...posted winning times of 1:05.46 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:18.13 in the 200-yard breaststroke and 2:09.32 in the 200-yard individual medley.

Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week
Charlotte Brackett - Richmond
Freshman, Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS

Brackett won a pair of individual events at William & Mary on Nov. 7...placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.03) and 100-yard freestyle (52.56) events...also swam a leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:46.69)...her 50-yard freestyle time ranks seventh in program annals...UR dropped a 167.5-126.5 decision.

Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Nate Bromage - Massachusetts
Senior, Three Rivers, Mass.

Competing in Massachusetts' 162-138 win at Binghamton on Nov. 8, Bromage won the 100-yard butterfly (51.57) and 200-yard butterfly (1:56.59) events...also swam a leg on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:10.65).

Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week
Jason Cook - Massachusetts
Freshman, Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional HS

Cook earned gold medals in both the one-meter (308.55) and three-meter (310.65) diving events on Nov. 8 as Massachusetts edged Binghamton, 162-138...remains undefeated in the three-meter competition this season.
