About the Atlantic 10 Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
The Atlantic 10 Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) consists of fourteen student-athlete representatives, one from each member institution, plus institutions can designate one student-athlete to serve as an alternate on the committee. In addition, the committee includes three ex-officio members, specifically a Director of Athletics, a Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) and a Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Conference SAAC organizations were created to strengthen the communication between campus SAACs and the national SAAC committees. Through increased communication and networking, the goal is to better represent the views of all student-athletes. Additionally, the guiding principle of the A-10 SAAC is to serve as a medium of communication through which student-athletes, conference administrators, institutional representatives, NCAA representatives and coaches discuss and take action on issues relating to rules and regulations, student-athlete welfare and community service. With the principle of conference SAAC organizations in mind (to represent the views of all student-athletes), it is the responsibility of each Atlantic 10 Conference SAAC representative and alternate to participate in all meetings and activities conducted for the conference SAAC, to engage and effectively communicate pertinent issues to their respective campus SAAC organizations, and also to appropriately represent their campus SAAC organizations. |
