Trio Of A-10 Track Standouts Garner All-America Distinction

Amanda Goetschius and Darius Law of Charlotte became the seventh and eighth NCAA Indoor All-Americans in 49er history with their performances at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. In addition, Dayton's Mallory Barnes became the program's first-ever All-American after placing sixth overall in the weight throw.

Charlotte Defends Men's Title; Shares Women's Crown With Dayton at A-10 Track and Field Championships

The Charlotte men's track and field team successfully defended its indoor crown from a year ago as it totaled 207 points. The 49ers also earned a share of the women's team title as it split with Dayton, finishing with 145 points at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championships.

Charlotte Selected To Capture 2010 A-10 Indoor Track & Field Titles

Charlotte has been selected to defend its Atlantic 10 men's and women's indoor track & field crowns in voting conducted by the league's head coaches. The 49ers' women's team claimed their fourth consecutive title last season as they held off runner-up Dayton, 175-139. Charlotte is led by junior Amanda Goetschius, the defending A-10 champion in the mile (4:53.36) and bronze medalist in the 3,000m (9:58.90), and 2009 400m dash champion Kortnie Coleman (56.31).

Eric Mobley, who won 16 conference championships in four years as the head coach at The College of New Jersey, has been named the head men's and women's track and field coach at Temple University, director of athletics Bill Bradshaw announced today. The Philadelphia native (Central HS) also spent seven years as a Division I assistant, including two seasons as the top aide at Temple (2002-04).

Temple head men's and women's track and field coach Stefanie Scalessa has submitted her resignation to pursue other professional opportunities, director of athletics Bill Bradshaw announced today. Scalessa recently completed her fourth season directing the track and field team and her third season overseeing the recently-reinstated cross country program.
